Toray Performance Materials Corporation (Toray PMC) has a rich history. It began in 1986 when Toray established the Medical Materials Corporation to provide materials for the fabrication of orthotics. Eventually the company entered the athletic footwear, recreational, and industrial markets. In 2012, Tencate purchased that company and renamed it TenCate Performance Materials. In 2018 Toray Industries acquired TenCate Performance Materials and established Toray PMC. The company maintains its legacy of innovation and service, capitalizes on the strength of the Toray Group, and is the leading supplier of high-performance continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRT®) composite materials to the sporting goods, computer, construction, automotive, medical, and other markets.
